FLVPlayer in any size you like

The FLV Player is usable in any size that you like. Thanks to great functionality in ActionScript 3.0 I was able to make the player adjust it’s interface to the size with which it’s included in your web-page.

You can adjust the HTML that embeds the FLV Player to display in any size that you want. The form on the FLV Player download page gives you the opportunity to generate the HTML and preview for a “160×120″, “320×240″ or a “640×480″ version but it’s a matter of altering the width and height parameters in the HTML code to have it display in any dimension that you like!

FLV Player can display in any size you like!

    Hi!,
    great lightweight player!

    There is a way to hide all the indicators? (seekbar and icons)

  2. Theo Lagendijk Says:

    Hi Luis,
    Yes of course you can hide the indicators!
    The indicators are only visible when the mouse moves over the video player!

  3. Theo Lagendijk Says:

    Or did you want to completly remove all the indicators? I sure can do that for you if you like. That would sure make it a real lightweight FLV Player.

  4. Chad Says:

    Nice an light weight. Is there away to add a water mark in the player to display our domain or logo?

  5. Theo Lagendijk Says:

    Yes I can include that watermark for you if you like. Just send me (theo.lagendijk gmail.com) your watermark and I will return you a FLVplayer with the watermark wherever you want to have it.

  6. Toon Says:

    Great player!
    I cannot get the it to play full screen however.
    Using windows xp and IE 6.0

  7. Theo Lagendijk Says:

    Hi Toon,

    glad you like the FLVplayer! It’s weird that you’re not getting the fullscreen function to work on your system.
    Do you have the latest Flash plugin installed?
    Where do you encounter the problem? On the FLV player download page? On your own website?

    If you solve the problem, please let me know!

    Thanks for your comment, I will look into this.

  9. Jenni Says:

    I like the player, how do I loop a video ?
    And I have got allowfullscreen set to false, but the icon is still in the top right corner ?

  10. Don Moore Says:

    This is a GREAT player!! GOOD JOB!!!
    I can’t get the player to work in full screen mode however, on your main page or on my page.

  11. Silvia Cataldi Says:

    Hi, I love your work! is a wonderful player. QQ: is there a way to reproduce .wmv video?

  12. Theo Lagendijk Says:

    Hi Silvia Cataldi,

    What do you mean by reproducing? Do you want Flash Video (.flv) copies of your wmv video?

    Have you tried “Adobe Flash Video Encoder“?

  13. Silvia Cataldi Says:

    I’m sorry, English is not my first language as you can see :P
    I meant “playing” wmv video.

  14. Theo Lagendijk Says:

    Hi Silvia Cataldi,

    In that case the answer is simple. No FLV Player does not play .wmv video. But you can translate your .wmv to .flv using Adobe Flash Video Encoder. :)

  15. Jim Says:

    Thank you, nice player!
    But I’ve a problem: I tried to play various FLV: the ones from YouTube seek correctly by moving the bottom slide control, while others encoded by me just restart every time from the beginning… why?!?
    Thanks again

  16. Hope Says:

    Hi Theo - like Petr, looking to load a static image for the first screen if auto-play is set to false; i.e., a poster jpg or something so it’s not just black. Is that possible?

  17. Steve Clough Says:

    Hi Theo,

    Really great player especially like how there are no distracting buttons unless you hover over the video. Like the other guys comments, it would be really good to have a jpg as a place holder when autoplay is false. Maybe you could have it load start.jpg from same location as the video and we can then replace the file with our own start.jpg. Guess Ill put picture at the end of the flv for now and put on autoplay.

    Thanks for all your work

  18. Harold Clagg Says:

    I’d prefer to see the play button already there.
    It makes the object look like a movie, rather than just another still image.
    This is important, as a lot of viewers may not be techno-savvy, and not not think to mouse over the movie.

    At least have this as an option to have the Play there, or on mouse over.
    Then it would be a great player.

    Cheers,
    HC

  19. netmastan Says:

    Thanks for this great player. It doesn’t support image preview.
    Please try to give your player a unique name - this way it will be popular and easy to find. FLV player is not good name. And also encourage people to use swfobject.

    code

    Please wait

    var s1 = new SWFObject(’js/FLVPlayer.swf’,'player’,'400′,’300′,’9′);
    s1.addParam(’allowfullscreen’,'true’);
    s1.addParam(’autoplay’,'false’);
    s1.addParam(’allowscriptaccess’,'always’);
    s1.addParam(’flashvars’,'video=../download/test.flv&autoplay=false&image=../download/preview.jpg’);
    s1.write(’preview’);

  20. Edward Says:

    How do you loop the flv?

  21. Erik Gustafsson Says:

    I agree on the name thing. Call it Platiplus-Player or something :)

    FLVplayer is very anonymous, and very hard to find on a search engine, becouse it can be any flv player.

  22. Johnny Driesen Says:

    Hi Theo,

    Great piece of software !
    As can be read in many posts overhere, I’m also missing the “start image”.
    And, if possible, I would like to get rid of the black border around the player (I tried to modify the bgcolor parameter, but this doesn’t seem to work.)

    Keep on doing the good job, Theo.

    Grtz from Belgium

  23. Marinela Says:

    Great job, thanks for sharing this, but I agree on the name too, call it PatiplusFLV Player or something, it’l be easier to identify on search engines.
    Keep up the good work
    Greetings!

  24. Dwayne F. Says:

    Hi. Thanks for the great player. Was real easy to install. I noticed some others have asked this question too, but I haven’t seen an answer here. Is there a way to display a preview image instead of having the black screen before pressing play? Thanks.

  25. burak mert Says:
